The ground sailer gradually became built in and in 1989 the mill was moved to its current location near the Essesteijn farm. The mill has been set up as a museum, showing how a miller's family lived around 1900.

Molen de Vlieger was built in 1621 to drain the Veen and Binkhorst polder.
